From quantum science to real-world impact

What does it take to turn quantum technologies from cutting-edge research into real-world applications? And what role can Europe play in shaping this rapidly evolving field?

These questions were at the heart of “Quantum Today: From Quantum Science to Real-World Impact”, which we co-hosted with La French Tech Frankfurt last Thursday at Goethe University Frankfurt.

The evening brought together perspectives from science, business and politics. Nicolas Bergeret, Consul General of France in Frankfurt, highlighted the importance of Franco-German and European cooperation in quantum technologies. Dr. Manpreet Jattana provided insights into the fundamentals and current state of quantum computing, while Johannes Kröner (KPMG) explored the current adoption of the technology in Germany and beyond.

The subsequent panel, moderated by Matthias Reidans, brought together Manfred Rieck, Ansgar Roese, Niklas Hegemann and Valentin Macheret to discuss where quantum computing could create tangible value for industry.

The evening made one thing particularly clear: turning quantum potential into real-world impact will require collaboration – across disciplines, sectors and borders.

A big thank you to all speakers, panelists and guests, as well as to our partners La French Tech Frankfurt, Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt GmbH, Futury and the Consulat général de France à Francfort, for making this evening possible.

We look forward to continuing the conversation at the intersection of quantum science, entrepreneurship and innovation.
